The fourth outing on Incidental Sonics comes from the Russian sonic explorer known as Tyler Frost. A fresh face for the label, Tyler has brought with him two mysterious cuts of modern breakbeat depth that are thematically synchronised but emotionally distinct.

The A-side, Blackwood, is a raw slice of dark drum & bass that explores pent up aggression throughout its tense and dissonant arrangement. Grim atmospheres and echoic sound FX colour the audible palette with a sense of imminent menace, whilst razor-sharp breaks and heavy bass keep the track in late night basement rave territory.

For the track on the flip, entitled Thoughts, Tyler draws for a more cerebral aesthetic, with gorgeous pads and textures creating a blissful ambience in the intro, leading gracefully into a modern & clean junglist drop with a truly addictive bassline.
