After a hiatus, Incidental Sonics returns with its fifth outing. Representing a meeting of minds between near lifelong friends, label boss Constrict teams up with hang drum sorcerer Don Cirelli to bring two cuts of meditative and breakbeat-infused dance music at contrasting tempos.

Kicking the release off is Cliffside, a track conceived following a blissful wild camping trip by the sea. Hang chords and melodies build as the score surrounding them swells with pads and strings, creating an energy source that shortly explodes into rhythms, bass and vocals. Evolving with a considered and unrushed pace, this is music made with connection in mind.

On the flipside is Voyage, born of a simple yet entrancing handpan melody that sets the tone for a long and winding journey through jungle and drum & bass. Atmospherics fill the stereo field before giving way to a halftime drum pattern and cavernous reese bass. Subtle beats build into a crescendo of heavy amen breaks, before giving way once again to deep and mystical synth lines. One for the 170bpm heads.
